What is PAGA and how can it help me?
Answer
The Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) allows employees to file suit on behalf of the California Labor Commissioner to recover civil penalties for Labor Code violations. PAGA claims can cover unpaid wages, missed breaks, improper pay stubs, and more. 75% of penalties go to the state; 25% go to employees. PAGA can also be combined with class actions.
